Bleigießen with Year 8

Year 8 had today's German lesson in the science lab where we melted small pieces of lead, then poured them into cold water and interpreted the shapes to read what 2013 has in store for us. This is a German New Year's Eve tradition (Bleigießen = to pour lead) we had studied and now experienced for real. A big Danke to the massively supportive science department!

Skyping today with Jawad, Paris about "racisme et intervention"

Today our AS and A2 French groups had the privilege to Skype with Jawad about his work within the French charity MRAP. MRAP is an organisation which provides legal advice and psychological support to victims of racism. We discussed topics such as racism, immigration and integration. Jawad’s expert input complemented the work we had done in class as part of the A2 topic on La Société Multiculturelle. What a great opportunity, both from a linguistic and cultural perspective!

(Spanish session with Year 6 CEIP número 54 de Alicante to follow soon)!
